Robinsons Longcliffe Ltd were awarded the contract to design, fabricate, and install a new 110m³ capacity filler silo for Vital Liquid Polymers Ltd at their Manchester production facility. The project formed part of wider site improvement works to replace an ageing laminated silo and upgrade the company’s material storage infrastructure.
The scope of work included the full 2D design, fabrication, surface preparation, painting, delivery, and installation of the new silo, together with access stairs, handrailing, platforms, and blow lines. All design and fabrication drawings were produced in-house by Robinsons Longcliffe Ltd’s engineering team.
As part of the works, Robinsons Longcliffe also managed the removal of the existing laminated silo, including all transport and crane hire, providing the client with a complete turnkey solution from dismantling through to installation of the new system.
All steelwork was fully painted throughout using a C4-rated industrial coating system to provide long term corrosion protection and durability in an exposed environment.
The project was successfully completed on schedule and to specification, providing Vital Liquid Polymers Ltd with a modern, high-capacity filler silo designed for efficient and reliable operation.
