Chlorine Bypass System Installation

Client: Tarmac Tunstead Cement Plant

Robinsons Longcliffe Ltd were awarded a multi-project installation contract for Tarmac Tunstead Cement Plant as part of their introduction of a new chlorine bypass system into the cement manufacturing process. Working alongside multiple other organisations, Robinsons Longcliffe Ltd’s scope of works encompassed the installation of several critical components to support the integration of this new system

Key elements of the project included the installation of a new vertical silo and access platforms, the design and installation of a new process building, the installation of a new dust filter unit, and all associated ducting, which measured over 1500mm in diameter. The installation of the dust filter unit required the use of a 1000-tonne all-terrain crane to safely lift and position the equipment into place

The project spanned over six months and was undertaken under full compliance with CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and regulatory compliance. Over 25,000 engineering hours were dedicated to the fabrication, installation, and successful completion of the works.

Robinsons Longcliffe Ltd’s expertise in managing complex, large-scale industrial installations played a key role in the smooth execution of the project, which was completed on time and to the client’s satisfaction.
